ECOSBIO – Regenerative Community Development
ECOSBIO is a conscious development project that integrates architecture, ecology, and community living within a naturally rich site in Costa Rica. Designed as a model for environmentally positive development, the master plan organizes a series of residential and communal lots around a central wellness hub, balancing comfort, functionality, and ecological restoration.
The project includes a Wellness Center, Community Kitchen and Marketplace, and a network of cabinas, orchards, and food forests, all connected through trails that follow the site’s natural topography and watercourses. Access to a river with natural stone pools and waterfalls becomes a defining feature of the landscape experience, blending recreation and environmental preservation.
Architecturally, ECOSBIO draws from Earthship and bioclimatic principles, using rammed earth, local wood, and stone to create thermally efficient, low-impact buildings that adapt to the terrain rather than modify it. The result is a self-sufficient community concept that fosters well-being, local production, and environmental regeneration, setting a benchmark for a new way of living in balance with nature.
