Relajarse Landscape – Landscape Design
Located in the heart of Las Baulas Marine National Park, in Palm Beach, Playa Grande, Guanacaste, Relajarse is a boutique lodging project that invites guests to reconnect with nature through rest and serenity.
The landscape design was conceived to accompany this experience, creating a tropical environment that balances native vegetation and ornamental species to provide privacy, freshness, and harmony with the protected surroundings.
Design Concept
Inspired by the natural landscape, the project seeks a subtle integration between architecture, nature, and sensory experience.
The gardens were designed to offer intimate and relaxing spaces, surrounded by native foliage, lush blooms, and natural shade that invite rest and contemplation.
Stone and sand pathways connect the rooms and common areas, guiding visitors through a sensory journey where the textures and sounds of the environment blend together. The use of native species creates a diverse palette that attracts local wildlife —birds, butterflies, and hummingbirds— reinforcing a deep sense of place.
Each space at Relajarse was conceived to provide an authentic tropical retreat: terraces opening to the garden, lounge areas shaded by palms, reading nooks surrounded by vegetation, and framed views of the landscape.
Here, the landscape is not a backdrop but a protagonist—embracing the architecture and fostering a sense of well-being and natural connection.
