Water Pump Solutions brings the studio’s contemporary tropical language to a commercial building in Huacas. One ordered volume holds the showroom, the service area and the back-of-house functions.
Reading the site
Water Pump Solutions is in Huacas, Santa Cruz, the same town as our studio. The site had to take a commercial programme of pumping and hydraulic services: a showroom open to customers, a service area and the back-of-house functions behind them, on one lot and without the building overwhelming its setting.
Key decision
We kept the whole programme in one ordered volume instead of separate buildings. The showroom, the service area and the back-of-house functions share a single envelope, which keeps the building calm and legible from the road, simple to run day to day, and lets the studio’s contemporary tropical language carry into a commercial building.
